Monsters that will appear in "Godzilla 2" were revealed by Warner Bros. and Legendary.
According to Legendary's official statement, "Warner Bros. and Legendary released Godzilla in May 2014 with an agreement to release Godzilla 2 on June 8, 2018."
"Both films feature the human Monarch organization. Shortly following Legendary's pact with NBC Universal, Legendary acquired rights to additional classic characters from Toho's Godzilla universe, including Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah."
Making its debut alongside the King Kaiju in 1964's "Mothra vs. Godzilla," Mothra, resembling a moth, is a huge monster in the Godzilla universe.
Having its first appearance in the 1956 Toho film, Rodan has the ability of radiating powerful shockwaves when flying and is a fire-breathing creature too.
The three-headed monster, King Ghidora, had its first appearance as the series' first villain which was released in Japan in 1964, "Ghidora: the Three-headed Monster." This monster's responsible for turning Godzilla from anti-hero to hero.
Being such a massive hit of the "Godzilla" remake, Director Gareth Edwards earned the opportunity to be "Godzilla 2" as its director again. Along with "Kong: Skull Island," the sequel now has an official release date. Screen Rant also confirms that "Godzilla vs. Kong" movie has been added by Legendary to their slate.

As a lifelong fan of these characters, I've always wanted to see the ultimate showdown, and today we're pleased to be announcing that and more."
"This paved the way for developing a franchise centered around Monarch and anchored by Godzilla, King Kong, and other famous creatures."
"Kong: Skull Island," "Godzilla 2," and "Godzilla vs. Kong" will be connected by the Monarch organization, introduced in "Godzilla" on 2014.
"Kong: Skull Island" will be released sometime in 2017 and has already commenced production.
Arriving in theaters on June 8, 2018 is Gareth Edwards' "Godzilla 2."
Around 2020, "Godzilla vs. Kong" will be released.
