Chicago Bulls are among those who has always been involved in NBA trade rumors ever since the 2014-15 season ended.
Looks like something will finally materialize and it involves their biggest star for more than half a decade.
ESPN's Brian Windhorst fueled long-standing NBA trade rumor concerning Derrick Rose in a video posted by sports website Wednesday. The seasoned reporter said Chi-Town is slowly conditioning itself to depart with its first ever season MVP since Michael Jordan.
"The Derrick Rose breakup with the Bulls has begun," Windhorst said adding that there is no assurance it will be completed.
"I don't know how long it's going to last. I don't know if it's going to be complete. But you can sort of see it. The team and the franchise have moved on to a little bit of a certain extent."
Rose still has two years left on his contract and is expected to earn $41 million.
The spitfire point guard received a blow in his aim for successful return this 2015-16 NBA season as he suffered a left orbital bone fracture before the start of the season. He was able to recover before the opener but he is yet to register star numbers.
There are many theories why rumors that Chicago Bulls already want to part ways with Rose. People suggest that he is no longer the team's most important player with Jimmy Butler making vast improvement over the years. There are even grapevines suggesting the two are not in good terms.
It is also said that Rose is no longer the focal point of the team, meaning the offense does not revolve around him anymore with presence of serviceable big men like Joakim Noah, Pau Gasol, Nikola Mirotic, and Taj Gibson.
It also does not help that Chicago Bulls suffered awful losses at the start of the season, most notably the blowout in the hands of Charlotte Hornets.
Rose is currently fourth in the team in points per game but is first in assists per game.
