Microsoft Xbox One: Company Replaces Defective Game Console Due to Disc Drive Issue

The minimal number of Microsoft Xbox One customers with disc drive issues will get a replacement game console from the company BBC News reported Monday.

Reports have stated the drive is noisy when they put in a disc. The machine also does not detect a disc is in the machine.

"The issue is affecting a very small number of Xbox One customers," Microsoft said in a statement BBC reported. "We're working directly with those affected to get a replacement console to them as soon as possible through our advance exchange program."

Microsoft released its eighth game machine since 2005 Friday, just seven days after competitor Sony released its PlayStation 4 game console.

The device has an improved kinect sensor, which enables players to operate the device just by talking. Individuals can also connect the console to their satellite television equipment in order to watch TV, and flip back and forth between gaming, and viewing shows.

Microsoft has also had issues with its Xbox 360 device. This involved the Red Ring of Death or situation where the machine will become excessively warm. Users put an extra three years on the machine's warranty resulting in $1 billion in added expenses.

Sony is also currently investigating reported issues with its PlayStation 4, and the blue light of death, or instances where the machine will not connect with users televisions. A blinking light usually shows, and then switches into a white screen when operating normally ABC News reported.

The new $399 game console has eight x86 CPU-codes titled Jaguar, and is manufactured from Advanced Micro Devices according to Network World. It also comes equipped with upgraded graphics coprocessors capable of handling 1.84 teraflops of performance.

"For launches over multiple countries the volume of manufacturing required by both Microsoft and Sony will always unfortunately yield a minor amount of hardware failures, in one form or another, and we are seeing this with this launch cycle," Spencer lzard, an analyst with the International Data Corporation told BBC News.
