Klaus and Elijah Mikaelson's relationship started off in the rockiest of places when the season started.

According to Cartermatt, the tension between the siblings might be coming to a head soon as some ancient secrets get revealed in "The Axeman's Letter."
It seems that one of the original sires, Aurora, might have something to do with the revelation that will reportedly threaten "to tear the Mikaelson brothers apart for good."
Aurora, according to Christian Today, may know something about her past lover that could end the siblings' promise to stay together "always and forever."

In the previous episode, Elijah and Hayley also tried to find out about Klaus' prediction from Alexis but they were too late. The seer was already poisoned by Tristan's sister before they could get to her.
