Samsung Galaxy Mega Release Date: 6.3 Inch Device Due Out in MetroPCS Stores Monday

Samsung's 6.3 inch Galaxy Mega is expected on MetroPCS Monday a PR Newswire press release reported Friday.

"MetroPCS wants consumers to get the most for their money, and by eliminating the need and cost of two separate devices and delivering a premium 4G LTE mobile experience for as low as $40 a month, we're providing quality and value in a mega way," Tom Keys, chief operating officer and executive vice president of MetroPCS said in a statement. "The Galaxy Mega offers a large screen experience on-the-go with the portability of a smartphone and the larger viewing display of a tablet and we're delivering it on an advanced nationwide 4G LTE network."

Consumers can purchase the device in any MetroPCS store, and online on the retailer's website.

The new smartphone has a 1.7 gigahertz dual-core processor, an eight megapixel rear flash camera with options to take the best picture in panorama for nature backgrounds, or drama shot for action, a 1080p video recording and playback equipped with a bigger screen, a WatchON program giving users options to use their phone as a remote control, a multi-window view for seeing different apps all on one screen, an air view for presenting information at the tap of a finger without opening programs, and a 320 mAh battery with ample power.

The Galaxy Mega is also available on all of MetroPCS's unlimited data, talk, and text service data plans for $40 and up. The retailer is also offering a unlimited no annual contract wireless service and other phones so they get the most out of their plans the press release reported.

The $499 device is also available for $399 with a $100 rebate as part of the company's holiday promotion. A $50 rebate is also an option for rookie customers, which brings the phone's price down to $349.
