'Vikings' Season 4 News: No More Ragnar Lothbrok After Next Year? Spoilers Inside

| By

Recent "Vikings" season 4 spoilers speak of how Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) becomes a man and rise to the throne.

This ascension of young warrior might come at the expense of his father Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).

Rumors have it that Travis Fimmel is set to leave the show for various reasons. "Vikings" season 4 release date is expected to be around February or March next year but there is no assurance whether all lead characters will stay until the last week.

The one cast member some fans assume to leave early is Fimmel whose character in the show is feeling weaker because of a sickness.

Ragnar's departure could be based on the myth the History Channel TV series is following but according to MNR Daily, it could also because of a career move by Fimmel who is set to star in upcoming movie "Warcraft" which is based on the video game of the same name.

"Season 4 might be the last viewers will see of Ragnar, which is played by Travis Fimmel," MNR Daily wrote.

"If real life imitates art, then he is said to be leaving the show as well, though not for health reasons. He is said to be moving on towards other projects, and one of the projects he is in is the upcoming "Warcraft" movie."

This "Vikings" season 4 spoiler is something series creator Michael Hirst has discussed before. He said there is a possibility Ragnar will die and his sons will inherit the throne.

"It's very important to note that he's not only sick; he's hovering between life and death," Hirst said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after the third season's finale.

"So that impacts hugely on the beginning of season 4, which we're working on now. It's a big story point. It's very important that Ragnar is weakened, ill and hovering between life and death when we come back for season 4."

Will Ragnar Lothbrok get killed off? If yes, will the show survive without him? Let us know below.
