After bidding farewell to "The Vampire Diaries," is it still possible for Nina Dobrev to return in season 7?
While many fans were left broken hearted when the 26-year-old Bulgarian-Canadian actress announced that she's leaving the long running vampire-themed series, hope emerges following her co-star's statement.
It's pretty obvious that "The Vampire Diaries" season 7 is still hung up on the death of Elena Gilbert, and now Paul Wesley, who plays the role of Stefan Salvatore teased that Elena still plays a big part in the series.
"Elena's still a very big part of the story," Paul Wesley revealed to TV Insider. "Her body's in danger in the first few episodes, and Damon is doing everything he can to make sure it stays safe if and when she wakes up."
"We all had imagined this complete reboot where Elena was gone, but she's talked about so much!" he added.
Even her ex-boyfriend, Ian Somerhalder teased fans of Nina Dobrev's possible come back.
"She's still there, dude," Ian Somerhalder told MTV. "She's in a casket; she's having a nap."
"[Characters] die and come back," Paul Wesley quipped.
However, as for Nina Dobrev herself, the chapter of "The Vampire Diaries" in her life has already ended.
"That chapter is closed, sadly -- bittersweet," Dobrev explained to Entertainment Weekly.
She even expressed her support to her former co-stars, claiming that she'll enjoy watching "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.
"I can't wait to see what the new season will look like," she added. "I'll be watching. I'm very excited for my friends."
Apparently, Nina Dobrev is going to be pretty pre-occupied in finding more challenging roles for her career.
"I want to do something dark and gritty," she explained to WhoWhatWear. "I want to work with directors that I admire and that will make me better and actors that will challenge me and scare the s--t out of me."
Following her exit from "The Vampire Diaries," Nina Dobrev, according to Deadline, is reportedly working on a movie with "Game of Thrones" star Maisie Williams, called, "Arrivals."
