Instead of diving into the pumpkin spice fever, Nabisco turned to an all-time favorite flavour instead.
Taste the limited edition Hot Cocoa Chips Ahoy for the winter nights ahead!
"Introducing new Hot Cocoa Chips Ahoy! Limited Edition cookies. Snuggle up with the rich, creamy flavor of hot cocoa, no mug required! And, to make this season even more delicious, try them warm!" the brand's Facebook page announced, along with a photo of the said product.
The famous cookie brand tried out other flavors in the past - chocolate banana, mint chocolate, and even Reese's Peanut Butter cups. According to The Daily Meal, however, this new flavor is a "real winner."
To hit shelves this Monday, each Hot Cocoa Chips Ahoy is "studded with chocolate and marshmallow chips, and are filled with a layer of hot cocoa-flavored icing."
"They really taste like hot chocolate, and that layer in the middle is a very pleasant surprise," the review said.
AM New York recommends to pop the cookies in the microwave for about seven seconds before eating, to get "illusion of having just popped out of the oven."
The Daily Meal added that, "The chocolate middle melts, and they become groan-inducingly good."
Food Beast also only had praises for the cookie's "gooey, hot chocolate center and marshmallow chips." This would be the perfect midnight snack during cold winter nights.
The Hot Cocoa Chips Ahoy limited-time availability is reportedly a good marketing strategy according to AOL, noting that outlets estimated stocks to be available on the shelves for six to eight weeks. Starbucks reportedly followed the same strategy lately with their vampire-themed Frappula Frappuccino for Halloween. McDonald's also tried it out with their McRib burgers.
Try it out when it hits shelves on Monday.
