Following Monster Mash Music Festival Performance Maynard James Keenan Now Busy With New Puscifer Album

| By

Maynard James Keenan finally performed in the Monster Mash Music Festival for his first and probably the only 2015 performance with Tool.

After claiming that he was conned into playing with Tool, the 51-year-old musician dressed as Led Zeppelin covering the Houses of the Holy track "No Quarter."

"Good news, it's fucking Halloween! Bad news, we are not Led Zeppelin," Keenan announced after their first song.

And while the performance definitely made fans crazy, expect no Tool reunion anytime soon since Maynard James Keenan is reportedly very busy working on a new album with his other band, Puscifer.

In an interview with Blabbermouth, the 51-year-old musician revealed that his band is working on their third studio album titled, "Money Shot" together with a new music video of the same title.

"Tossing out a few more cryptic Luchador-flavored bread crumbs with this one," the Tool singer said of his other band, Puscifer's new album and video. "Confused? Don't tweak your noodle. As with all of PUSCIFER's and Billy D's journeys, linear has no place here. Just embrace the chaos and enjoy the ride."

In addition to the new album, Puscifer is also planning to go on a series of tours.

"As is the Modus Operandi of PUSCIFER, there will be a whole new show to accompany the 'Money Shot' release," the singer said. "We've been leaving a few clues here and there as to what it may entail. As usual, we prefer to Show rather than Tell. Odds are if you've been a fan of the diverse nature of our performances in the past, you'll want to go ahead and place those bets."

And while many are still hoping that Maynard James Keenan will also work on a new Tool album in addition to the Puscifer, it seems like it's not going to happen or at least it's not going to happen anytime soon.

In an interview with David Accomazzo of the Phoenix New Times as reported by Consequence of Sound.

"But as with any time he's asked about Tool, his answers quickly become curt," Accomazzo described Keenan's reaction when asked. "A hint of exasperation creeps into his voice and he exhales heavily through his nose."

"Yeah, it's there, but people miss it because they're so focused on the other bullshit." Keenan answered. "It's lost. Insufferable people ... It's just ridiculous, retards. I'm sorry. Can't help them. Way too serious. Too much. Lighten up."

And when asked about the possibility of a new album, Keenan simply replied, "There's nothing to say. I can't."
