'Hunger Games' & 'Divergent' Fans Will Soon Have Their Theme Park Like 'Harry Potter'!

| By

Listen up, "Hunger Games" and "Divergent" fans! Your fandom just might get a theme park like "Harry Potter!"

Anyone who's ever been in the "Harry Potter" theme park in Orlando or in Japan knows that there's no better way to re-live your favorite story than to actually be immersed in the world where it occurs.

Well, the people behind "The Hunger Games" and "Divergent" trilogy seem to think along those lines, too! Because according to reports, Lionsgate is currently thinking of putting up a theme park for the dystopian world of Katniss Everdeen and Tris Prior.

According to The New York Times, the idea of a "Hunger Games" came three years ago, when the first movie of the trilogy hit the ground running at the box office.

However, there was a slight problem: All three of Suzanne Collin's books - "The Hunger Games," "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" involved killing children and exploiting them for entertainment in an oppressive society led by a dictator.

Luckily, Tim Palen, Lionsgate Chief Brand Officer, came up with ideas to make the theme park as fun as possible.

"The more we thought about it, the more we realized there was a major opportunity - not just to create something smart and captivating that 'Hunger Games' fans would love, but to bring all of our franchises alive in new ways," Palen said.

"There are so many positives about these movies, starting with the fact that she's an empowered young woman," Atlanta developer James Ram said.

According to Palen, roller coaster rides will be built to copy the high-speed Capitol trains in the movies. A simulator ride will also resemble a hovercraft, which will take the guests on a tour of Katniss Everdeen's fictional country, Panem.

Aside from the "Hunger Games" theme park, roller coasters, rides and other attractions will also be built after the studio's other successful franchises like "Divergent," "Step Up" and "Now You See Me."
