Liam Payne Too Pressured After Zayn Malik Quit 1D? Cancelled Belfast Gig Due To Meltdown?

| By

Negative scoops about Liam Payne continue to fill the headlines this month; following a report about his rumored split with girlfriend Sophia Smith, now the One Direction member was reportedly involved in a meltdown and a fight with fellow band member Harry Styles forcing the cancellation of their cancelled Belfast concert.

On Oct. 20, and for the first time in history, One Direction cancelled a Belfast gig at the last minute, announcing to the dismayed and heartbroken fans that Payne got really ill and could not perform. A day after, Payne took to Twitter apologizing to the disappointed fans: "I'm so sorry to everybody I disappointed last night. I'm feeling better right now. I really hope everyone can make it to the rescheduled date on Friday."

A new report from Closer magazine, however, revealed what really happened behind the scenes. Closer, in its report, said that after Zayn Malik quit One Direction, Liam Payne had to carry more responsibilities and on the Belfast gig, Payne had a meltdown.

"Liam has been under huge pressure since Zayn Malik left. He feels he has to produce performances that carry the band," Closer wrote. The report added that on the night of the cancelled Belfast concert, Payne had a fight with Styles. It wrote further, "He lost it in Belfast. He was in tears and shouting at Harry... The rest of the band said they'd help him."

And to confirm about Payne's meltdown, the magazine said, "Liam's made it clear he's reached his limit and is trying to hold together for this tour, but is making no promises after that."

"The pressures of fame and being on the road for two years have made Liam ill," The Sun (via SugarScape) also wrote. "He was devastated about letting everyone down, especially the fans, but he wasn't physically able to get on stage [Belfast]. He had a complete meltdown."

The Sun added that before the Belfast gig, Payne already had panic attacks and that it had been "brewing for a while."
