'The Flash' Season 2 Episode Guide: How Different Is The New Harrison Wells From The First One?

| By

"The Flash" season 2 episode titled "The Fury of Firestorm" featured two shockers.

First is the unexpected appearance of DC Comics villain King Shark and second is the highly-anticipated return of Tom Cavanagh.

There is no assurance if the former will return but the latter, he will appear for the rest of the season. Although the guy that appeared in the last few minutes of the latest "The Flash" season 2 episode looks familiar, he is completely different. The Harrison Wells from Earth-2 is not a bad guy (at least for now) like his Earth-1 version.

Earth 2.0 Wells will work with Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) to thwart Zoom's plan. However, he is not the type that will get along with STAR Labs people instantly. Tom Cavanagh said the new version of his character is arrogant.

"This seemed to me to be a massive opportunity to turn the tables," Cavanagh told Access Hollywood when asked for spoiler about his character.

"[With] Eobard as Harrison last year, there was a certain intelligence and charm and mannered way to him - a thoughtfulness. And I think the expectation was, this same person coming from Earth 2 would be like that and my thought was, 'Why?' And if he's much more brusque and arrogant and generates conflict then I think all the better for the show and all the better for me to play that."

Although the Earth-2 doctor seems like someone easy to hate compared to the pre-wheelchair Harrison Wells, Barry Allen will instantly took a liking of him.

"Barry is wanting to trust him...and in a way is quicker to trust him than he was to trust Jay [Garrick]," Gustin told TV Line. "He's less of a bad guy and more of a douchebag."

Show returns next week for episode called "The Darkness and the Light." Read "The Flash" season 2 episode guide below.

DR. LIGHT COMES THROUGH THE BREACH - Barry (Grant Gustin) learns a new breacher, Dr. Light, has come through the portal and sets off to capture her. Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) tells Barry that Dr. Light was not a threat on Earth-2 and that Barry can reason with her. However, during a fight with The Flash, she blinds him and drops some shocking news about Zoom. Meanwhile, Barry and Patty (Shantel VanSanten) go out on a date.
