Michael Fassbender and his girlfriend Alicia Vikander were rumored to have ended their relationship.
The rumors started when the 27-year-old Swedish actress reportedly dropped out of Fassbender's "Assassin's Creed" movie after landing a role in Matt Damon's upcoming "Bourne" sequel.
However, such rumors have reportedly been put to rest when the 38-year-old German-Irish actor stopped by for an interview with The Sun for his film "Steve Jobs," could not stop gushing about his girlfriend.
While he played coy about his relationship, the "X-Men: First Class" actor talked about how professional Vikander is, recalling how she worked in their movie, "The Light Between Oceans," which was shot in New Zealand.
"When she arrived on the set, I could see the determination there and the focus, the discipline and the hard work and then trying to keep it up all the time," he said of Vikander. "She's a very good actor, disciplined...she works hard and gives great performances."
Meanwhile, Irish Independent claimed that Alicia Vikander has indeed ended her relationship with Michael Fassbender, and the publication even claimed that the 27-year-old actress seemed to have gotten over the actor quite swiftly.
"Alicia Vikander isn't sitting at home crying into her ice cream after splitting with Michael Fassbender," the publication claimed.
Rumors of the breakup went as far as claiming that Alicia Vikander has already moved on with another guy named, Armie Hammer.
"This means that Alicia Vikander is ready to move on, with Armie Hammer or with some other Hollywood stud that isn't Michael Fassbender," Kpopstarz reported.
Mirror on the other hand, confirmed the breakup rumors citing, "Us Weekly reports that the pair - who were last photographed together in May at the Monaco Grand Prix - have now called time on their relationship."
Apparently, Fassbender did not take Vikander's exit from "Assassin's Creed" lightly and that eventually caused their relationship to spiral down.
"Alicia Vikander has now been set to star in the next instalment of the Jason Bourne saga opposite Matt Damon, Deadline can confirmed.
"She will not, however, be starring in Justin Kurzel's 'Assassins Creed' pic opposite Michael Fassbender."
