Jimmy Fallon Injury: TV Host An Embarrassment To His Parents? Explains How He Tripped At Harvard

| By

Jimmy Fallon recently got a new injury and his parents apparently think he's an "embarrassment."

During the "Tonight Show" on Monday, Jimmy Fallon introduced himself as "Trippy" Fallon, in reference to the chain of injuries he has obtained the past few months.

"Welcome to the 'Tonight Show' - I am your host, 'Trippy' Fallon," he said.

Fallon explained what happened during the Harvard Lampoon event wherein he got his new injury.

"This time, I injured my other hand right after getting an award from Harvard," Fallon said, who was receiving an Elmer Award from the Harvard Lampoon during the event.

Jimmy Fallon explained that he tripped over a female attendee at the said event, who was kneeling down the floor to offer him a flower. He was holding a bottle of Jagermeister to give to the marching band who played at a parade earlier that night.

"I threw the bottle and then landed on broken glass," Fallon said. "And there was pools of blood everywhere. But it turns out, it wasn't that bad,"

"Even after getting into Harvard, I still embarrass my parents," the 40-year-old talk show host joked.

According to Jimmy Fallon, people have sent him get-well-soon messages after his recent injury, except one - his doctor.

"Fans sent me get-well-soon cards while my hand doctor sent me a picture of his new Ferrari," he said.

Jimmy Fallon's recent hand injury comes after he nearly ripped his left ring finger apart after tripping over his wife's braided kitchen rug last June.

"Tripped and caught my fall (good thing)! Ring caught on side of table almost ripped my figner off (bad thing)," the late night show host Tweeted.

"I tripped and fell in my kitchen on a braided rug that my wife loves and I can't wait 'til I burn it to the ground," Fallon explained during his "Tonight Show" return after two weeks in the hospital. "And I tripped and fell and I caught my fall and I'm getting up and my finger's sideways."

Jimmy Fallon's injury was so severe, the doctors nearly amputated his ring finger.

A few weeks after that, Fallon had to go to the dentist after chipping his tooth trying to open a tube of medicine for his injured finger.

"Chipped front tooth trying to open tube of scar tissue repair gel for recovering finger injury," Fallon captioned a selfie on Instagram showing off his chipped tooth, thanking his doctor and using the hashtag #BestSummerEver.
