Criss Angel's 2-Year-Old Son Diagnosed With Cancer; 'Mindfreak' Magician Cancels 2015 ‘Believe’ Shows

"Mindfreak" illusionist, Criss Angel's 2-year-old baby boy was recently diagnosed with Cancer, prompting the magician to cancel his upcoming Cirque du Soleil show "Believe" at the Luxor all through Nov. 1, 2015.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, Criss Angel's son, Johnny Crisstopher Sarantakos, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a condition wherein the bone marrow produces too many immature lymphocytes, a type of white blood cells.

The news was shared by the illusionist as a "family emergency" on Oct. 22, Thursday.

"In light of a family emergency the news I was going to announce this weekend will be postponed. Thank you xc," Angel wrote on Twitter.

"For many years, Criss Angel has championed and raised money for various children's charities here in Las Vegas, but he never thought it would hit this close to home," said the "Mindfreak" magician's colleague. "This is a very personal family crisis." The Vegas-based magician is reportedly flying to Australia to see his son and his girlfriend. According to the article, it is the first time Criss Angel is missing appearances on his nearly 3,000 performance run in the Las Vegas hotel. After news broke out, Criss Angel posted a photo of himself and his son Johnny Crisstopher on Twitter. "Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.Criss," 37-year-old Angel wrote. Fans who have heard about the news have sent their messages of support towards the magician, whose real name is Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos. On Oct. 26, Angel thanked his fans for their "outpouring of love" along with a touching photo of himself, his son and his girlfriend, Shaunyl Benson. "4th day chemo-Shaunyl, Johnny & I can't thank u enough for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers & support. #amazing," the illusionist wrote.

The magician also shared a snap on Instagram, carrying his son as he undergoes chemotherapy in a hospital.


Criss Angel's "Believe" appearances in Vegas will resume on Nov. 4, 2015.
