Imagine this! Playstation fans! television on your game console.
The new features will be available this month from online content provider EPIX a press release reported.
"We look forward to continuing our relationship with SCEA to offer subscribers a unique and unparalleled experience," Mark Greenberg chief executive officer and president told The Journal. "EPIX is committed to providing the best content in every way consumers want it, and working with our technology and distribution partners to create better entertainment experiences across all platforms."
Consumers will be able to use the EPIX app on Sony's new game console, as part of the content provider's deal with Sony Computer Entertainment America, which started in April, and also involves the Playstation 3 game console.
"EPIX is on the forefront of delivering its content to our customers. Its movies and original programming are available through our DISH Anywhere app, as well as devices like PS4 that our customers will soon have in their homes," Dave Shull, DISH Network executive vice president and chief commercial officer the press release reported. "Together our goal is to deliver great content to our customers in as many ways as possible."
Users will also be able to view full movies and concerts on the system when they sign up for the EPIX premium subscription service through their cable, satellite, and telco suppliers.
Over 3,000 on-demand movie titles will be available such as "The Avengers", "Skyfall", "The Hunger Games", "Flight", Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol, along with others.
There are also franchise movies such as "Star Trek", "James Bond", and Tyler Perry's Madea the press release reported.
Users can also view documentaries on the app such as "Amar'e Stoudemire: In the Moment", "TWA Flight 800", and "Schooled: The Price of College Sports. This also includes features about famous music and comedy individuals such as Madonna, Coldplay, Louis CK, and Ben Stiller among others.
