Fox TV Series 'Empire' Looking For 4 Singer/Actress Who Will Join Season 2 Cast As Girl Group

Lee Daniels and Danny Strong have tapped entertainment industry veterans to bulk up "Empire" season 2 cast line up. The Fox musical drama is one of the biggest hits this 2015 and to make things even better, they listed several actors and singers.

Veteran artists are not the only ones who will spice up "Empire" storyline. There are also up and coming artists who will grace the show. For the latter part of its second season, a new girl group will be introduced. However, the show hasn't found suitable actors for the roles. The search is still on for Empire Entertainment's new big group.

"The co-creator of the FOX Wednesday night hit show Empire, Lee Daniels, is in the process of casting for his upcoming TV series Star," Music Times reported citing The Urban Daily as the source.

"Daniels is holding an open international casting call as he looks for new talent to fill the roles of his lead characters."

The report added that this new members of "Empire" season 2 cast will be the new focus of the show.

"According to The Urban Daily, Lee is on the international hunt to cast four lucky women in the roles of Star, Cotton, Alexandra and Simone - the four young women who make up the Atlanta based all-girl singing group that the new TV series is set to focus on," it said.

Show's music moguls, Lucius Lyon (Terrence Howard) and his wife Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), have tried forming girl groups before but they are yet to come up with the one that sticks.

Aside from this new girl group, fans can also expect a true singer in the show as Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal, confirmed Mariah Carey will join the "Empire" season 2 cast.

"That rumor is true," he told Entertainment Weekly. "That makes me feel so good to say that rumor is true."

The Fox TV series will not be on this week as it will only return on November 4 for the episode "A High Hope for a Low Heaven." Read synopsis below.
