Two $2,800 cow costumes taken from a California Chick-Fil-A this year were returned to their owner thanks to a Craiglist Ad according to The Redlands Police Department CBS Los Angeles reported Tuesday.
Robert Michael Trytten of Riverside, Calif., was arrested Oct. 30 for possession of stolen property CBS Los Angeles reported after the police department came across an ad on the listing site last week, and acting as an undercover officer consequently got in touch with Trytten about purchasing the garmets for Halloween according to police CBS Los Angeles reported.
Officers then set up plans to see Trytten at an apartment complex in the 2600 block of East Highland Avenue in San Bernardino, Calif when he was arrested after displaying the costumes to the officer according to police, CBS Los Angeles reported.
"When the seller told the officer that he had two for sale at $350 apiece, the officer replied that it would make the perfect his-and-hers costumes for him and his wife," Redland's Police Department spokesman Carl Baker told CBS Los Angeles. A pop-up canopy cover was also recovered after it was also reportedly taken.
Trytten is currently in the Central Division Center in San Bernardino, Calif., on $275,000 bail CBS Los Angeles reported.
Chick-Fil-A uses the costumes for occasions such as appreciation days, the next one being July 11, 2014 the company said on its website.
Customers who don a purchased cow costume, or one made from purchased material on this day will receive a free breakfast, lunch, or dinner meal. Those who come in half-way dressed in accessories such as a hat or scarf will get a free entrée.
Breakfast entrée's include chick-fil-a chicken biscuits, three chick-n-mini's, and chicken or sausage breakfast burritos.
Lunch and dinner entrees include the chick-fil-a chicken sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich, and chargrilled chicken sandwich, and grilled chicken cool wrap.
