1 Toddler, 3 Adults Dead, Several Children Injured In Another Oklahoma State Tragedy

| By

Four are dead, including a two-year-old toddler, after a woman barrelled through barriers, bringing turning what should have been a homecoming celebration into yet another another Oklahoma State University tragedy last Sunday.

News On 6 identified two of the deceased as two-year-old Nash Lucas, the son of an OSU student and MBA student Nikita Nakal from Mumbai, India.

CNN identified the other casualties as Marvin Stone, a 65-year-old retired professor from the Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering. He was killed along with his wife, Bonnie, who worked for the Institutional Research and Information Management, for more than 30 years.

Meanwhile, 47 were reportedly left injured - 17 hospitalized, four in critical condition - after the 2014 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 25-year-old Adacia Chambers, went crashing through a parked police motorcycle and right into a crowd of people celebrating the biggest sporting event in the state. Eleven victims were younger than 13.

Witnesses are still rattled by what happened, with coach Mike Gundy admitting that there are "no words" for yet another Oklahoma State tragedy.

"There's just nothing you can say," he continued. "It just has to be the absolute worst thing that can happen to a family and loved ones."

According to CNN, Chambers, a Stillwater resident but not an OSU student, was "under the influence" while on the wheel and was taken into custody right away. She faces four counts of second-degree murder and may face life in prison if convicted.

As sad as the situation is, however, this isn't the first Oklahoma State tragedy that Stillwater had to mourn in the past decade and a half.

The town's first tragedy happened in January 2001 when 10 members of the OSU men's basketball team died in a plane crash. They had been on their way home from Colorado.

The next ordeal happened when women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and his assistant Miranda Serna suffered the same fate while riding a single-engine plane for a recruiting trip.
