Is He The One? Arum Impressed With Manny Pacquiao's Suitor For Next Fight

| By

Manny Pacquiao's next fight, set around April next year, is said to be his last.

He is still one of the biggest names in the boxing world despite losing his last match. He still has many suitors and one of those is Terence Crawford who made a good account of himself in his last match.

Crawford is the current WBO junior-welterweight champion and is #7 pound for pound fighter in the world according to "Ring Magazine."

When asked if Crawford can be the man in Manny Pacquiao's next fight, Top Rank CEO and Pacquiao's promoter said it will be an interesting match up.

"It would be one hell of a fight," Arum said as per report by Sky Sports.

"The next step is for Manny to review the tapes from tonight's fight, and we also have to wait for the result of November 7 [Timothy Bradley v Brandon Rios], then we'll regroup after that."

The 28-year old boxer said he is ready. He even asked Arum to make this mega bout happen.

"I'm ready," Crawford told Yahoo Sports when asked about the possibility of facing Pacquiao in an HBO Pay-Per-View bout that is expected to take place on April 9, the date Pacman's camp set. "Bob [Arum], make it happen."

Crawford is currently 5-0 in world title fights. Just last week, he recorded his 19th straight victory after a 10th round stoppage vs Dierry Jean at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.

The April 9 match is the last and only chance Crawford can challenge Pacquiao who Arum said is set to retire after.

"I'm telling you what he told me last week at dinner in New York," Arum told ESPN. "We talked very seriously, and he said, 'Bob, hopefully, by the middle of May I will have been elected senator in the Philippines, and at that point I cannot engage in boxing because I need to focus on the senate and I have to be in attendance.'"
