There is no release date yet for new "Arrow" - "The Flash" crossover episodes. Before the two CW Network TV series started their new season, executive producers teased crossing over the characters will be an annual event.
Although the dates are yet to be revealed, Stephen Amell, who plays Green Arrow, shared something that will only agitate fans' excitement. If the first two "Arrow" - "The Flash" crossover episodes only featured at least two superheroes, the next ones will not just have three, four, or five superpowered creatures. Those episodes have nine.
"We shot a scene that had, like, nine superheroes in it," he said in an interview with Zap2It. "Nine people with either powers or super suits."
"It was an amazing thing to look at, to look out over the scene and see the world that has been built over the course of three-plus years."
This might include the characters from another spinoff series "Legends of Tomorrow" as well as "The Flash" additions Jay Garrick, Firestorm, and more.
Amell also said the new crossover episodes could stand on their own even if viewers don't watch one of the two shows.
"Last year was designed so that if you were a fan of one show or a fan of the other show, you could enjoy 108 of 'Flash' and 308 of 'Arrow' independent of one another," he said.
"It's not the case this year. If you put them back to back on one night, they would run like one two-hour episode of television."
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, who works on both shows as well as CBS TV series "Supergirl", also expressed excitement for upcoming "Arrow" - "The Flash" crossover episodes.
"We look back and thought that those 'Flash' and 'Arrow' episodes were the biggest things we'd ever done," Kreisberg said. "Now we have more heroes, more people with powers, more mouths to feed and bigger villains. It's really exciting."
