Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg can't help but feel proud of his wife, Priscilla Chan, whom aside from being a pediatrician and entrepreneur, is making a real difference in the world.
On Oct. 24, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted about his wife's recent philanthropic work - an after school program for low-income families and communities.
"I'm so proud of Priscilla for starting The Primary School -- a new kind of school that brings education and healthcare together," Zuckerberg wrote on his official Facebook page.
Zuckerberg explained that when children are in poor health conditions, their education suffers. The Primary School's goal is to make sure good health and education always go hand-in-hand.
"In addition to early childhood and K-12 education, The Primary School will also provide prenatal support for families and on-site healthcare for children," the Facebook creator wrote.
"By bringing healthcare and education together in one place, the goal is to support families and help children from underserved communities reach their full potential," he added.
Priscilla Chan also explained what inspired her and her team to put up the said program.

"My experiences of running an after school program in a low income housing project and working as a pediatrician in a safety net hospital has shown me first hand that we need a better way of caring for and educating our children," Chan wrote on her Facebook page.
"The effects of trauma and chronic stress create an invisible burden for children that makes it very difficult for them to be healthy and live up to their academic potential," she added. "We must address these issues holistically in order to allow children to succeed,"
Chan has been working in their local community in Palo Alto and Belle Haven, Calif. along with other educators and leaders to make the after school program's goal a reality.
Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg couldn't help but gush about his pregnant wife, adding a "personal note" into his otherwise strictly-business/ philanthropy Facebook update.
"It's inspiring to see Priscilla grow as an entrepreneur and leader," Zuckerberg added. "I'm looking forward to watching with pride as she develops The Primary School into a great resource for our community,"
Previously, Mark Zuckerberg revealed that his wife had suffered three miscarriages before finally conceiving a baby girl.
"Now we'll focus on making the world a better place for our child and the next generation," Zuckerberg wrote on Aug. 1.
