Lorde Tired Of Her Music, Shifts Genre For Her New Album?

| By

Following the phenomenal success of "Pure Heroine" two years ago, Lorde is now reportedly working on a new album.

While the success of her album could be attributed to her unique musical style, the "Royals" singer is reportedly working on an entirely different genre.

The 18-year-old hitmaker has yet to confirm the reports but according to MTV, Lorde is collaborating with EDM group Disclosure.

The report immediately fueled speculations that the Grammy award winning artist is indeed considering shifting genre for her new album.

Apparently, Lorde worked on the duo's song "Magnets," which reportedly impressed them.

"How she wanted to change every little bit and really be involved with the whole thing is really cool," Disclosure said of Lorde's involvement. "It just reminded us to pay really close attention of every little piece."

Now Lorde has reportedly teased fans on what to expect of her sophomore album, explaining how the change of environment have affected her style and inspiration for music.

"I wrote the last album about that world which was the suburb where I grew up and populated by my friends and people who were really familiar to me," Lorde said of her new album in an interview with BBC. "Now I'm in a different place every day and I'm with new people every day and it's a different vibe."

But while she's determined to share her new ideas to fans, the New Zealand breakthrough artist confessed that she still has no idea on how the new album would turn out.

"We haven't got some planned out 'this is what it's going to sound like,'" Lorde explained. "I think we're just going to start writing and when it starts to feel right, we'll know that it's right. It's pretty simple really."

"I don't know where the inspiration comes from for stuff. You work and at some point you feel you suck for the first 10 hours and in the last hour in the studio something great happens. You just never know when it's going to come."
