Ronda Rousey Wants UFC Legacy On Par With Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali; Champ Reveals Her Vice

| By

Less than a month before UFC 193, women's champ Ronda Rousey revealed the kind of legacy she wants to leave after leaving the Octagon for good.

"I want my name to be mentioned along with Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali," the 28-year-old told comedian Chelsea Peretti in an interview with SELF magazine, adding, "And I don't want the word 'woman' to be in front of champion."

Rousey is currently in the midst of preparing for a title defense against former pro-boxer Holly Holm for their next fight at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia.

In the interview, the undefeated champ recalled the steps she took to be where she's currently in her career.

"It's motivating, because it's something I have to keep earning. When I was a kid, all I did was train. I never went to a dance, I never had a date, I never went to a single party," the UFC champ said.

"Rowdy" went on to describe training as "[her] whole life." Her dedication bore fruit when she won an Olympic bronze medal in 2008 which she said is something wanted more than anything else. Of course, there's also her 12-0 record.

During the interview, Ronda Rousey also revealed that her go-getter attitude is something she's had as a kid thanks in part to her mom.

"She'd always tell me that you have to be your best on your worst day, because what if the Olympics fall on a bad day?"

She added, "[w]hat she really taught me was the value of giving up what you want now for what you want most. My sisters were taught that, too, and they carried it through the professions they decided to pursue."

Still, Rousey isn't without vices as she admitted to Peretti that she indulges in a lot of hot wings as part of her post-fight ritual, according to Bleacher Report.

She loves hot wings so much that apparently, a private chef was even flown in to Rio de Janeiro after her fight with Bethe Correia because there aren't any in the city.

Ronda Rousey vs. Holly Holm is expected to shatter UFC records. The bout is set for Nov. 14 at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
