Will Christina Aguilera Return To 'The Voice' To Separate Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani?

| By

Earlier this month, Deadline confirmed pop diva Christina Aguilera's return to "The Voice" next season, giving Gwen Stefani a break over the winter.

However, was this an effort to give rumored couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to break up?

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, "The Voice" producers are worried that the alleged romance between the two coaches might cause some unwanted repercussions for the show.

"'The Voice' producers obviously encourage some flirting and banter between the judges - it makes for good TV," the gossip site wrote. "But, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani actually hooking up on the set could lead to some serious problems among the cast and crew... the last thing they want is for Blake and Gwen to bring their drama on to live television or to create a disturbance on the set."

However, both music icons have denied the said romance between them.

The mother of three reportedly deflected the issue during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, The Daily Mail reported.

"It seems like the cowboy is really happy on the show," she said, when asked about her dating news with the country icon.

Meanwhile, Shelton turned to Twitter to joke about the dating issue.

"Getting ready this morning to go put in my deer plots and looked at Twitter... Damn my dating life is awesome!! Let me know what happens,'' he posted after the news first broke.

Whether their romance is true or not, Christina Aguilera's "The Voice" return will still be happening for season 10. However, season nine will reportedly not be the No Doubt lead singer's last time on the show.

Music Times said that Stefani is still not done with the show. She even gushed about the team on Billboard, calling Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams "so smart" and "lovely."

Should she just join Christina Aguilera on "The Voice" for season 10? Could adding one more woman coach benefit the show?
