Maynard James Keenan Announces New Puscifer Album While Ditching Tool Recording?

| By

While many avid fans are hoping that Tool would release a new album, Maynard James Keenan instead, announced that his other band, Puscifer is going to release a new one.

In an interview with Blabbermouth, the 51-year-old musician revealed that his band is working on their third studio album titled, "Money Shot."

Additionally, the Puscifer frontmant also revealed that a new music video of the same title is in the works as well.

"Tossing out a few more cryptic Luchador-flavored bread crumbs with this one," the Tool singer said of his other band, Puscifer's new album and video. "Confused? Don't tweak your noodle. As with all of PUSCIFER's and Billy D's journeys, linear has no place here. Just embrace the chaos and enjoy the ride."

Together with their new album, Puscifer is reportedly going to have a series of tours including one scheduled at the Monster Mash festival in Phoenix.

"As is the Modus Operandi of PUSCIFER, there will be a whole new show to accompany the 'Money Shot' release," the singer said. "We've been leaving a few clues here and there as to what it may entail. As usual, we prefer to Show rather than Tell. Odds are if you've been a fan of the diverse nature of our performances in the past, you'll want to go ahead and place those bets."

Meanwhile, Keanan's other band, Tool has opted to just release a new merchandise instead of a new album.

According to Consequence of Sound, Tool has launched "quilted blankets made from old Tool t-shirts."

No new album to offer, but at least they have blankets to make fans feel warm.

One Tool blanket costs $199, partly because it's made out of cotton shirt from the band and it's only available in limited quantities.
