While it seemed like Nina Dobrev has moved on from her ex-boyfriend and former "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder with boyfriend Austin Stowell, her new relationship is now being plagued with nasty rumors.
Apparently, despite their public display of affection, Nina and Stowell are just putting on a show.
Previously spotted at Eli Mizrahi's Founding Member launch dinner party, E!Online claimed that Nina Dobrev and her new boyfriend are undoubtedly in love.
"You can tell how much they love each other just by the way they speak and their mannerisms toward one another. Austin is such a gentleman and treats Nina with such respect," the source said.
However, Celeb Dirty Laundry is now claiming that Nina Dobrev is just using Austin Stowell to stop people from continuously linking her to "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder, who is now married to Nikki Reed.
"It would certainly be an easy way to seemingly end the constant association with Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed," the publication reported.
And reportedly, it's not only Dobrev who has been making an effort to get disconnected with her ex-boyfriend, Nikki Reed is reportedly trying to make her husband quit "The Vampire Diaries" to completely get out of Nina Dobrev's shadow.
CDL added that "all this PDA and perfectly timed romance seems to align with Nina's push for another career-making role."
Nina Dobrev is now reportedly trying to land a role in other major series like "Empire" or "True Detective."
Her name is also reportedly shortlisted for the role of Allie in the TV adaptation of "The Notebook" after slamming rumors of her apparent return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.
"That chapter is closed, sadly - bittersweet," she told Entertainment Weekly.
