'Da Vinci's Demons' Re-Shoots Some Scenes For Fans As Season 3 Premiere Date Nears

| By

"Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 premiere date is coming and when this day comes, it is bitter sweet for some fans because it took so long and this will be the last season of the Starz fantasy series.

To make sure that fans will love "Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 premiere up to the last bit, the show decided to re-shoot some scenes. Tom Riley, who plays the title role, revealed they added some scenes to give the series a more definite ending.

"It was always the most ambitious finale we've ever done," Riley told Digital Spy.

"It goes out with a bang - it's huge and expensive, so it would've always been great. But now we've just added the icing on the cake, to make it feel like more of an end."

The Welsh actor added the finale will be a little open-ended.

"It'll be as minimally open-ended as we can make it," he said. "It was time to end it and we've done it in a way we're really satisfied with. We manage to close off most of the storylines, and give all the lead characters a satisfying ending, so people will be pleased."

"Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 premiere date is set on October 24, more than a year since its second season ended on May 31 last year.

The Starz TV series, which had 63% approval ratings from Rottan Tomatoes, was canceled on July. Although sad, Starz CEO Chris Albrecht insists it doesn't mean "Da Vinci's Demons" is a failure and fans shouldn't feel sad.

"There is no bad news here," Albrecht said of "Da Vinci's Demons" season 3 cancellation in an interview with Deadline.

"The show ran its course. If a show runs for 3 seasons, it doesn't mean it's not a success, especially in the premium space."

Executive producer David S. Goyer is also happy "we're ending the story on a high note."
