'Agents Of SHIELD' Season 3 Episode 4 Postmortem: Is It May Vs Hunter Now?

| By

The latest "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 episode featured the highly-anticipated meeting of Agent May (Ming-na Wen) and her ex-teammates from the agency.

It was a rather unpleasant reunion because May met her ex husband Andrew who she was trying to avoid ever since their unexpected split.

What's more frustrating for May in the episode is that the moment she worked with the SHIELD, Andrew (Blair Underwood) instantly get dragged into perils.

In "Agents of SHIELD" season 3 episode four titled "Devils You Know," Former SHIELD agent Ward told May that he has Andrew monitored from university where he teaches. Ward insisted that one wrong move from her and her partner Hunter (Nick Blood) means death for her ex-husband.

Hunter called it a bluff and so, he attacked Ward who he somehow wounded with a gun shot before fleeing. Before the episode ends, the scene shifted to a man in suit, probably Andrew.

He was down on the floor and had no time to get up and prevent the room's explosion. The guy in the room is more likely dead with that amount of destruction.

This would have not happened if Hunter decided to stay down. What will May feel about this? Will she go after Hunter? Ming-na Wen said May doesn't really trust Hunter.

"She never really liked him that much. [Laughs] She got a joy out of seeing him get beaten up a little bit," Ming-Na Wen told Entertainment Weekly.

"He's like that annoying brother. There's always going to be a level of distrust within her, because Hunter is too emotional. That's something that I don't think Agent May admires. She admires his loyalty and his drive to get something done, but it's so emotionally driven that it bothers her a lot. Of course, what he did in this episode certainly doesn't win him any brownie points."

Wen also hinted that Hunter's careless decision will not sit well with Agent May.

"I think she's quite pissed at him, because he was willing to sacrifice Andrew, even when she said don't do it," she added.

"He's still like, "Whatever, bitch." [Laughs] And then he doesn't get Ward. That's the worst part! It would be one thing to sacrifice Andrew and accomplish his mission, but the fact that he made the sacrifice and didn't."

The next "Agents of SHIELD" Season 3 episode is called "4,722 Hours" and will air on Oct. 27.
