While producers of Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Terminator: Genisys" were reportedly left disappointed with Emilia Clarke's performance, the "Game of Thrones" star's recent accolade has reportedly earned her a spot in the sequel.
Clarke, 28, has been awarded with GQ magazine's prestigious "Woman of the Year" award.
Sam Claflin, who described her as "Fair and deserving, hardworking and kind...the busiest bee...the 'Game of Thrones'' greatest find," presented the award.
"She's not only ridiculously talented, the best of the batch. She's got a really good smile with characteristics to match. She's had 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' filmed opposite Jude Law, killed machines beside Arnie, and still has more in store," Claflin added.
And while Emilia Clarke hasn't confirmed her return to "Terminator: Genisys" sequel yet, she did say that she is "very lucky to play very strong women on screen."
She also praised women from all over the globe saying, "We'd like to turn our minds to the real women of strength today [who are] struggling..."
Following the lackluster performance of "Terminator Genysis" in U.S., many speculated that Clarke's below par performance was to blame.
According to Dish Nation, Clarke's bad performance in "Terminator Genisys" was put under bad light.
"Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop," an insider revealed to the source above. "Of course it's not all her fault, but they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did."
"It's a shame because the role could have really cemented her place in Hollywood," the insider added. "But instead it's put a downer on it."
While Emilia Clarke's latest accolade could play a huge part of producers wanting her back in "Terminator: Genisys" sequel, the movie's impressive China opening has also reportedly vindicated the star, Variety reported.
