New "Vikings" season 4 trailer features additional footage other than the one shown during the San Diego Comic-Con three months ago.
The clip, which lasts for one minute and 37 seconds, was filled with action and drama. Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) will obviously assume a bigger role in the raids and other activities. Lots of main character were also down on the ground. What awaits them in this new season?
The biggest takeaway in the fresh "Vikings" season 4 trailer is Floki's situation after getting arrested for the murder of Althestan. Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel) is also facing a lot of threats. In fact, there is a scene wherein a woman put a knife on his throat while he is sleeping.
There are many speculations Ragnar will die this season and his sons will continue his legacy. Crossmap also reported that cast and crew already know about Ragnar's demise.
"Ragnar's death has been reported the past few days," Crossmap wrote.
"Supposedly, since Ragnar was hovering between life and death in the last season of Vikings, he will die in the upcoming fifth season of Vikings which will pave the way for Bjorn to take over his throne. The cast and crew of Vikings have been hinting on Ragnar's death almost as soon as the season ended."
Before the third season of "Vikings" ended in April of this year, series creator Michael Hirst hinted that History Channel TV series could continue without its lead star. Ragnar looks healthier in the latest "Vikings" season 4 trailer but of course, the clip is just the surface of the whole story.
"I've always seen Vikings without Ragnar," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
"I thought it was very important when I started thinking about this whole thing that Ragnar had many sons and some of his sons became more famous than he was. So I can perfectly well envision a world without Ragnar and further adventures for the sons. Absolutely. That's something I really, really want to do."
Fimmel added in the interview that the third season is somewhat their way to make other people "man up", possibly talking about Bjorn and other sons of Ragnar.
"This was a year where we felt like we were trying to introduce other people," he said.
"We were trying to "man up" certain people and all that sort of stuff - having other people take more of a bigger role. Michael's always been amazingly collaborative. He doesn't have an ego about that stuff, and we work together all the time."
