"The Big Bang Theory's" Season 9 Episode 5 had left us signs of potential threat towards the Shamy (Sheldon-Amy) tandem.
In the new episode of "The Big Bang Theory" entitled "The Perspiration Implementation," Leonard, Sheldon, Raj and Howard take up a new physical activity that does not involve re-enactments of "Star Wars" or "Game of Thrones."
After careful thought, the guys decided that fencing would be the obvious choice as far as physical activity goes, since it does not involve running, throwing and basically anything too strenuous that their couch-strapped, X-Box trained muscles couldn't bear. [Scroll down for video]
The boys take up fencing lessons from Barry Kripke, Sheldon's arch nemesis.
"When can I stab one of my friends?" Sheldon asked during their fencing lessons.
"In fencing, it's a touch," Kripke replied.
"If I say I want to touch one of my friends, I'll get called into human resources," Sheldon said.
Later on, as he prepared himself for some serious fencing, Sheldon said: "Prepare yourself for a rigorous touching."
During the lessons, after Kripke overheard Leonard talking to Sheldon about Amy and their recent break up. As it turns out, he is interested in Amy. Leonard then warned Sheldon that Kripke might be asking Amy out for a date in the coming days.
After their lessons, the guys headed out to a sports bar where Sheldon got drunk on pumpkin ale and tried (and failed) to ask a woman (and her grandmother) out on a date.
When they headed home, Leonard and Sheldon bump into Amy and Bernadette in the hallway outside Penny's apartment. There, Sheldon told Amy that Kripke might be interested in dating her.
Amy then admits to Sheldon that Kripke already asked her out but she turned the invitation down. After drunkenly blurting out that he was also rejected by women in a bar earlier that night, Amy tried her best to hide her devastated feelings.
After "The Big Bang Theory's" Season 9 Episode 5, will Kripke pose a great threat on Shamy? Perhaps Amy might consider dating him just to annoy Sheldon? That would give Sheldon enough reason to take fencing more seriously.
