Chupacabra Monster: Animal Shows Up in Picayne, Miss. For Halloween (VIDEO)

| By

As Halloween approaches, the chupacabra monster has re-appeared television station WLOX reported Wednesday.

"If a zombie had a dog, it would look like that," Jennifer Whitfield, who video-taped the rare occassion told WLOX. Whitfield was with her 11-year-old son Justin when she saw the creature in an area by their home, and did not know what to think. Justin however, figured it must be a chupacabra.

Whitfield and her son also found several of her neighbors had seen the creature outside as well after they uploaded a video onto the internet.

"I kept looking up 'hairless coyote,' and it kept saying 'chupacabra," resident Amanda Denton, who was with her husband Jonathan told WLOX. "We've been running back and forth to our cars because we didn't want the chupacabra to get us. I didn't know what it was, but then Animal Control couldn't find it, so maybe it was a chupacabra."

"My dad said that it was a 'squatchdog' because he's obsessed with watching 'Finding Bigfoot'" Caroline Cooper, told WLOX.

Local law enforcement conclude something is wrong with the animal.

"It's probably sick, weak, and not able to hunt on its own, so it's going to the nearest food source it can find," Sergeant David Burnette of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks told WLOX. Residents contacted the department to receive a professional opinion on the matter. Burnette also told the station, that while the animal was residing in the area in order to feed on garbage, and pet food in order to stay alive, residents should not think of it as dangerous. They should however, stay away from it so it doesn't become a problem.

According to WLOX, the story of the Chupacabra or a goat-sucker spans to the 1970s when officials believe the creature drank blood out of goats.

No one has ever captured the species, a thought which is not expected to go away anytime soon.
