Following reports that director Colin Trevorrow will no longer be directing "Jurassic World" sequel, Chris Pratt was plagued with the same speculations.
Apparently, Pratt is no longer interested to return to the sequel if Trevorrow will no longer direct it.
However, such rumors were soon put to rest when Trevorrow himself announced that lead stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas-Howard are going to reprise their roles in the upcoming "Jurassic World" sequel in an interview with Jurassic Cast Podcast.
"We made ['Jurassic World'] with the fans very much in mind and I'm not going to forget that. But we've seen a lot of 'dinosaurs chasing people around on an island' movies," Trevorrow explained.
"And I think you guys and the general audience are going to be down to explore where else we can go. Owen is going to be in it, Claire is in it and neither are going to be in the same place we left them in the first movie."
Furthermore, Trevorrow revealed his plans in making "Jurassic World" a new trilogy.
"I did look at it as a trilogy from the very beginning and we designed the whole thing that way," he started his explanation.
"Honestly? The trilogy is articulated in 'Jurassic Park' [quotes]. 'Jurassic World' is all based on Ian Malcolm's quote, 'You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could and before you knew what you had, you'd packaged it and slapped it on a plastic lunchbox and now you want to sell it.' That to me IS 'Jurassic World.' That's why I had all the product placement, that's what it was. The second one - 'Jurassic World 2' - we tried to find the foundation: 'dinosaurs and man separated by 65 million years of evolution have been thrown back into the mix together. How can we know what to expect?' That's me paraphrasing."
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Colin Trevorrow hinted that he'll step down from the franchise when he compared "Jurassic World" to "Star Wars" where there were different directors responsible for the success of the franchise.
"Jurassic Park is like Star Wars," Trevorrow reportedly said. "Different directors can give a different taste to each movie."
And while he may have stepped down from the directorial seat, Trevorrow assured fans that he is going to be very much involved in the "Jurassic World" sequel.
"I would be involved in some way, but not as director." he said of his involvement for the upcoming films.
Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, "Jurassic World" sequel is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
