While there's no announcement to "Shokugeki No Soma" season 2 release date, fans are hopeful that the anime would continue on its next season.
According to OtakuGiveAways there's a big chance that another season will come forth, given the pilot season's success and how the story could still expand in the future.
"I mean, hey it is food! But the good thing is that there is a clear storyline that lays as a backbone and shows the anime isn't all about food and the anime has potential to grow. I hope there will be second round for this gorgeous anime!" It explained.
As per Youth Health Magazine, the first season of the anime has just tackled Chapter 135 of the manga, therefore there's a bunch of story arcs that could be adapted in the anime, giving avid fans more hope of a "Shokugeki No Soma" season 2 release date.
"As of the moment, the anime's manga version is at Chapter 135," the publication explained. "That said, the animated version of the franchise still has a lot of material to work with for the "Shokugeki No Soma" season 2 plot."
However, for When-Will there's a slim chance for the second season to push through, citing that food shows have limited story arcs.
"It is unlikely that Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma will get renewed for a second season - the subject of food is quite narrow," the anime publication noted.
The publication did however noted that cooking shows such as the ones done by James Oliver had proven enough, making it possible for "Shokugeki No Soma" to have another season.
That is depending on the DVD sales of the said anime.
"If 'Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma' DVD sales are satisfactory, there might be another season of the series, and in that case we are looking at summer of 2016," When-Will stated.
When-Will compared the "Shokigeki No Soma," first arrived on April 3, 2015 at online anime streaming sites, Crunchyroll and Anime Digital Network, to that of the popular reality cooking show, "Hell's Kitchen."
