Guillermo Del Toro Talks About The Possibility Of 'Hellboy 3' - Ron Perlman Says There Will Be Twins!

| By

This past few years seems to be feature a bunch of sequels for classic films. There's "Star Wars" and "Terminator" to name a few.

And while "Hellboy" is rather considered the newest from the group, there had been reports claiming that a "Hellboy 3" is imminent.

Talking to Happy Sad Confused Indie Wire, award winning director/producer Guillermo del Toro opened up about his thoughts on the possibility of the sequel to "Hellboy," while promoting his horror film, "Crimson Peak."

The 51-year-old film director admitted that he met with lead cast, Ron Perlman to discuss "Hellboy 3," however as much as the both love to push through with the project, del Toro confessed that the studio is not interested.

"No one is knocking," he said, noting that there's a slim chance for the studio to consider working on the third installment of "Hellboy" due to the onset financial troubles of Blu-Ray and DVD, where the franchise successfully dominated.

As for Perlman, he felt like there's a need for the the third film to push through.

"I don't want to do 'Hellboy 3,'" he explained via Slash Film. "It's a pain in the ass to put that makeup on and take it off. But I feel we're obligated to finish the story."

In fact he even discussed to Empire how Guillermo del Toro would continue the story in "Hellboy 3."

"Guillermo told me what the resolve of the trilogy would look like, in broad strokes, and it's such an amazingly theatrical, cinematic idea, that I found it essential that we do it," he explained. "We were designed to be a trilogy, with a beginning, a middle and an end. We've only done two-thirds, so I feel that we're not really done until we finish it...."

Adding, "[And then, as to the actual story...] Holy sh*t, he's the beast of the Apocalypse. He has to take down civilization. He has to. It's non-negotiable. That's the foundation for the story, and that's why I think it would be a shame if we don't do it.."

Apparently, "Hellboy 3," will continue where "Hellboy: The Golden Army" left off, with Liz (Selma Blair) pregnant with twins.

"The two twins: one would look like the mum and one would look like the dad," Perlman teased. "And one of them was going to be completely fucking corrupt, the other one angelic. Which one was which? Only Guillermo would make the fucked-up-looking one be the angel. So then that adds to the saga."
