While fans wait for "Fast and Furious 8" to hit theaters, Michelle Rodriguez gladly shared details about the sequel.

After Vin Diesel announced the return of the hit car chase sequel, fans were left wondering what the eight installment's story could be.

While it's expected that it will continue the story where "Furious 7" left off, Rodriguez stated that "Fast and Furious 8" will be highly influenced by their co-star Paul Walker.

Talking to People during UNITAS Gala Against Sex Trafficking in New York City, Michelle Rodriguez explained how the sequel will pay tribute to the late actor.

"[Paul] wanted to bring it back down to the core, which is the racing," Rodriguez revealed. "He was always complaining about the special effects and the blue screens."

Furthermore, the 37-year-old actress said that "Fast and Furious 8" will stay away from "exaggerated explosions and crazy plot lines," as it tries to remain "true to Paul's wishes."

Michelle Rodriguez also clarified what Vin Diesel's previous statement was about, saying that the next film will remain true to "car audience," which was their goal when the franchise started.

"I think that's what Vin [Diesel] meant when [he said] his main focus on the next one will be trying to keep it true to that car audience," she said. "Hopefully we'll be able to do that cause it's gotten bigger than ever and you know we also have to stay true to that so it'll be a challenge."

"Fast and Furious 8" release date is set on April 14, 2017 with original cast returning to reprise their roles.
