It may have been years since the last "Harry Potter" movie was released but Emma Watson is Hermione Granger in real-life.
And the real-life Hermione Granger is a spokesperson for the United Nation's "HeForShe" campaign who perfectly responds to a Tweet asking her if she was a "white feminist."
On October 9, Emma Watson was doing a live Q & A session with fans when a Twitter user asked the "Harry Potter" actress a tough question to answer for someone who doesn't know the societal issues women are facing today.
"@EmWatson Are you a white feminist? #AskEmma," Twitter user @emeraldsgreen asked.
And as flawlessly as you could expect Harry Potter's brilliant BFF, Hermione Granger to answer, Emma Watson Tweeted a screen cap of her response (perhaps because Twitter's character limit couldn't help her voice out completely).
"I'm glad this question came up. I've been thinking about it a lot," Watson wrote. "White feminist implies and exclusion of black women from the movement which I find suprising because my bosses (and the people who gave me the job) are two black women,"
"I mention my own good luck/fortune/privilege something like 5 times in my UN speech and my wish to make sure other women have access to the same opportunities I have," Watson added.
The "Beauty and the Beast" actress went on to say that although she cannot speak on behalf of intersectional feminists, she wants to use her position to give them a "spotlight" to tackle the issue.
"And I see this as my role - to speak to my own personal experience and to amplify the experiences of other people," Watson wrote.
"I want as many people as possible to feel seen, heard and included in this movement," the actress said.
White feminism is a type of feminist movement which sheds light on the issues of white women but excludes the issues faced by women of color.
Ten points to Gryffindor!
