[VIDEO] Jon Snow’s Not Dead, He’s Just A Reporter? Meet Kit Harington’s Real-Life Namesake

| By

While "Game Of Thrones" fans rejoiced the reports that Jon Snow isn't dead, the real-life counterpart to Kit Harington's character was busy discussing the state of the world on the British channel ITN.

In contrast to Kit Harington's dark mane and scruffy chin, the actual Snow sports a head of pure white hair and a grandfatherly smile (when he's not tackling hardline news around the globe).

According to his Wikipedia page, Snow is the longest-running presenter of Channel 4 News having joined the network long before his namesake graced the HBO screen. He also holds several honorary appointments, including the Oxford Brookes University Chancellor.

On Twitter, he's just a TV anchor "hungry for info" whose interests include "development / homelessness / the abroad / people / politics /art / life!"

Kit Harginton previously shared his amazement at becoming the second famous Jon Snow to Jimmy Kimmel during an interview on his late night talk show.

"I think he's secretly quite miffed," Harington told Kimmel about him taking over the respected news anchor's name. "He woke up one day and he'd been like usurped on Google."

Snow's cousin, Dan Snow, also previously shared that the legendary reporter was annoyed that "there's now a Jon Snow who's more famous than him," in congruence to Kit Harginton's hilarious comment on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

"Every time he goes on Twitter, the mentions are all about the Jon in 'Game of Thrones,'"Dan Snow added.

However, it seems that the older Jon Snow got over it. He even dressed up as the Lord Commander during an interview with the "Game Of Thrones" star last year to mark his 25th anniversary in Channel 4.

Meanwhile, Finn Jones joked that if Jon Snow (the "Game Of Thrones" one) and his character Loras Tyrell were to meet, he'd convince the beloved character to swing the other way.

"Loras could probably try and turn Jon Snow gay," he said during the New York Comic Con (via Variety). "I'd like to see that happen, and also share hair tips as well, that'd be fabulous. I'd teach him a thing or two."
