According to the teaser trailer released for the new episode, it seems Tommy will find out his real purpose as an EVO.
"Why am I so important?" he asked the mysterious man.
"You're going to help save the world," he answered.

The teaser photos released by NBC (via BuddyTV) also reveal Noah finally meeting the Renautas CEO after being captured by Harris (Cle Bennett). They also show Luke (Zachary Levi) going home after revealing his powers to her trigger-happy wife.
