'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' Reboot Release Date All Set! Cast Lineup Complete?

It seems like Lionsgate is now gearing up for "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reboot to reach its scheduled release date, which is two years from now.

The casting crew is reportedly busy with the audition with a number of actors already short listed for the Rangers role.

According to Variety, Lionsgate is eyeing on casting up-and-coming actors and actresses for the "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reboot cast.

Austin Butler (Shannara Chronicles), Mitchell Hope (The Descendants) and KJ Apa (Shortland Street) are all reportedly vying for the Red Ranger role.

While Ross Butler (Chasing Life), Brian "Sene" Marc and Daniel Zovatto (It Follows) are all auditioning for the Black Ranger role.

The casting crew is now reportedly looking on Naomi Scott (The Martian) as the next Pink Ranger.

While the actors who are vying for the Yellow, Blue and Green Rangers have remained under wraps but will soon be revealed as well.

With the release date scheduled for 2017, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" reboot will be written by "X-Men: First Class" writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller.

Apparently, the upcoming teenage superhero movie is already in its "soft pre-production," director Dean Israelite revealed.

"I read the script and was really surprised by it and thought there was a really cool, contemporary, mature but still playful, buoyant and fun take on the material, and was updated in a really interesting way," Israelite explained to IGN.

Adding, "It had this wonderful character that's essential to going on a fantastic adventure. I was instantly drawn to it. "

"I remember it as a kid," he said. "I grew up with it in South Africa. When I opened the script I had no idea how it was going to be updated, and I was really impressed by it."

"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie reboot is scheduled on Jan. 13, 2017 release date.
