Manny Pacquiao's next fight is reportedly against former sparring mate Amir Khan. However, both sides are yet to struck a deal.
Amir Khan is growing impatient and he seems to have given up. He thinks Pacman's camp are stalling because they are afraid.
Of course, these comments by the British boxer were meant to insult Manny Pacquiao and his side. Top Rank CEO and Pacman's promoter Bob Arum denies Khan's accusation saying the former Olympian talks too much.
"Nobody can figure out why [Khan] is saying that," Arum told Los Angeles Times. "I've spoken to his attorney, Robert Davis, and we're going back and forth on the numbers," Arum said. "The kid [Khan] talks too much. It's probably why he lost the Mayweather fight. If there's no contract to sign, who's stalling who?"
Amir Khan said in earlier interviews that he is definitely close to become the man in the other side of Manny Pacquiao's next fight. However, things seems to have took an ugly turn lately as Khan now speaks of Pacman's camp in a bad way.
"I'm really disappointed in Manny and his team," Khan told The National newspaper. "They aren't playing ball. All that was left to do is to sign the contract. But they are stalling.
"I have pulled out of the negotiations. I am no longer fighting Manny Pacquiao. I am not going to wait around for Manny like I did for Mayweather. I need to fight and if they don't want to fight then that's fine, I have other targets."
Right now, negotiations for Manny Pacquiao's next fight are ongoing but no one knows if it will push through as the eight-division champ is still recovering from his shoulder injury which he claims he got the night before he fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Pacman is also rumored to be running for a senatorial post in his country, the Philippines, a move which Bob Arums think will permanently stop his boxing career.
"He can't [mess] around and take off to go into a training camp for three months if he's in office as a senator," Arum said. "Senators do most of the work in the Philippines. They have to be there virtually every day. He knows if he's a senator, he can't fight."
