Following the successful launch of "GOW" remastered version, Sony Entertainment is now reportedly eyeing on the possibility of "God of War 4" release date.
While it's not going to happen anytime soon, the fourth installment to the action-adventure Greek mythology game has reportedly been hinted by series writer Cory Borlog in an official announcement he made at PlayStation Blog.
He did not however, mention when will be the planned release date.
According to Cross Map, now that the remastered "GOW" version has been made available, Sony can now finally push through with the "God of War 4."
"Imagine a game like that [God of War 3] came out on PS4, right. Well, thanks to the fine folks at SCEA (or Santa Monica Studio) we do not have to imagine anymore because God of War III Remastered is here," Barlog said a statement.
The remastered version reportedly served as a testing ground for the gaming series. A test that has been proven effective.
"Remasters often help us open the door to new players who perhaps did not play 'God of War 3' five years ago, but who we can bring it to on the PlayStation 4," he added. "People often forget, the more players we can bring into a franchise, the better for everyone. At Santa Monica Studio, we'd like as many PlayStation fans to experience our games as possible, from generation to generation."
Meanwhile, Game Rant added that that IGN has already claimed that a "God of War 4" release date is already a money in the bank.
"IGN spoke with Barlog about the project and he indicated that the game is far out from release, teasing that we'd learn more about it in a 'year or two,'" the report stated hinting the "God Of War 4" release date. "Interestingly enough, the property and the name Kratos popped up during Sony's Project Morpheus VR panel today as well where Sony Computer Entertainment boss Shuhei Yoshida talked about a first-person demo he tried where the player was Kratos."
