"Quantico" season premiere has had a solid ratings but in the next few weeks, the new ABC TV series' ratings performance dipped.
TV By The Numbers reported last week's "Cover" episode was down by 1.2 million viewers.
Although the ratings are not performing well since "Quantico" season premiere, that does not mean that ABC is giving up on it. In fact, the network wants more.
"Quantico" which stars former Indian beauty queen Priyanka Chopra, has been ordered for a full season.
"ABC's promising new drama Quantico is the second freshman series this fall to receive back episodic order," Deadline exclusively reported.
"ABC has picked up six more episodes of the terrorism thriller starring Priyanka Chopra. The network considers that a full-season order as it is looking to accommodate a slew of drama series for midseason. However, there is an ongoing conversation, and the pickup may be increased from the current 19 episodes to get closer to the standard full-season 22 episodes."
"Quantico" tells the story of Alex Parrish (Chopra), a standout FBI academy graduate who is suspected as the mastermind behind the biggest attack in the United States since 9/11.
The show also stars Josh Hopkins as Liam O'Connor, Tate Ellington as Simon Asher, Aunjanue Ellis as Miranda Shaw, Johanna Braddy as Shelby Wyatt, Jake McLaughlin as Ryan Booth, Anabelle Acosta as Nathalie Vasquez, Graham Rogers as Caleb Haas, and Yasmine Al Massri as Nimah Amin.
The show will return on October 18 for the episode called "Kill" which showrunner Joshua Safran confirms will reveal more about Alex Parrish.
"I would just say that Alex, in light of the revelations about her father at Quantico, faces her darkest moment yet," Safran told Entertainment Weekly when asked to tease the next "Quantico" episode.
"She's going to be tested. It's probably our most Alex-centric episode so far. I mean, they're all Alex-centric, but we really shine a light on her and her psyche and who she wants to be. It's just a fantastic episode, and I'm also very happy to say it's written and directed and edited by women, which is always great and something we hope to keep going here at Quantico. It's just a story about Alex and all those things come together to form a story that's really emotional and intimate that I hope people really love. I would say it's a bit of a departure except it's not. Priyanka just shines even brighter than before. I just can't be more proud of that episode."
