Every avid fan of "New Girl" probably know by now that Megan Fox will be temporarily replacing Zooey Deschanel in the first few episodes of the hit comedy show's season 5.
However, some fans seem yet to be convinced over the "Transformers" actress' comedic prowess.
Despite Megan Fox's background in comedy - she previously starred with Lindsey Lohan in a teen comedy film entitled "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" a few years ago.
More recently, Megan Fox was also with Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann in "This Is 40."
However, fans of "New Girl" still believe casting Megan Fox for season 4 was a mistake.
"How are they doing to replace Zooey Deschanel with Megan Foc for season 5 of New Girl what kind of monstrosity is this?" a fan tweeted of the new cast member.
"Disappointed is an understatement for how I feel about Megan Fox replacing Zooey on New Girl," another Twitter user wrote.
"So they are replacing Zoey Deschanel w Megan Fox on New Girl;s Season 5. I hope they rethink and immediately kill this idea," another "New Girl" fan wrote.
Despite the fans' reactions, cast members of "New Girl" seem thrilled with Megan Fox joining season 5, including none other than Zooey Deschanel herself.
"The lovely and amazing @meganfox will be on #NewGirl Season 5!" Deschanel wrote on her Twitter page.
Max Greenfield also expressed his excitement over the "New Girl" moving in to their apartment while Deschanel's character, Jess, is sequestered on a jury for the first few episodes of Season 5. "This has been on my vision board since the pilot!" Greenfield said of Fox joining the show.
Aside from Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield, the show's executive producer Elizabeth Merriweather also praised Fox's comedic acting chops.
"It's insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny," Merriweather said in an interview with Deadline. "But I guess we just all have to accept it.. I've been a fan of her comedic skills since 'This Is 40,' and I'm so excited to have her on the show."
Merriweather also said that they were thinking of Megan Fox when they were writing her character for the show's fifth season.
