Disney has finally announced its film release schedule for the next couple of years, including some definite dates for highly anticipated sequels, "The Incredibles 2" and "Cars 3!"
According to Variety, the film studio recently announced the release dates for 19 different films up to 2020. The list includes several long-awaited sequels, as well as some new animated films and four live-action fairy tales.
In a previous report, Brad Bird confirmed that he's already working on a storyline for the beloved superhero family. He's also excited to direct the animated film, despite his apprehensions about the abundance of sequels in Hollywood.
Despite recent rumors that "The Incredibles 2" will precede "Cars 3," the official announcement has the former slated for a 2019 release while the latter will reportedly be ready for public viewing by Summer of 2017.
On the other hand, another long-awaited sequel has been moved back another year, the site reported. Instead of a June 16, 2017 premiere, fans of Woody and Buzz Lightyear will have to wait until June 15, 2018 to see them in action again.
Meanwhile, Pixar and Disney will also be releasing a couple of new animated films. "Coco" will be hitting cinemas on Nov. 22, 2017, while "Gigantic" will be for March 9, 2018. Titles of two other animations have yet to be confirmed.
Release dates for four "Disney Fairy Tale" live-actions movies have also been spread out from Dec. 22, 2017 to Nov. 9, 2015.
Several classic animated films have been rumored for an adaptation but no actual release schedule for the films have been announced by the studio. According to Forbes, these adaptations could be the Tim Burton-helmed "Dumbo," the Reese Witherspoon-starred "Tinkerbell," or the slightly controversial "Mulan." The Prince Charming-themed film, the "Aladdin" prequel, or the "Sword In The Stone" could also be a part of the list.
"The Incredibles 2" and "Cars" will be shown in the midst of these live-action adaptations.
