The Asus ZenWatch 2's release date hit a few days ago and now, the Android Wear smartwatch is on sale. But where can you get your hands on one?
According to TechnoBuffalo, both ZenWatch 2 variants are now on sale via the Google Play Store at $149.
The smartwatch is also on sale at BestBuy and Newegg is taking pre-orders for it, according to Tech Times. The device reportedly hit US retailers on its Oct. 9 release date.
Franchise Herald reported last month that the ZenWatch 2 will go on sale in Europe this month starting at €149 ($168).
But is it worth your money?
Per TechnoBuffalo, the latest smartwatch from Asus "is a great option" for those looking for their first Android Wear device. It undercuts its rivals but still has most of their features.
The ZenWatch 2 comes in two flavors: one with a 1.63-inch (41mm) 320 x 320 AMOLED display and another with a 1.45-inch (36mm) 280 x 280 display. The larger smartwatch (WI501Q) gets a 400mAh battery while the smaller one (WI502Q) makes do with a 300mAh battery.
"Customization comes from the three stainless-steel colors for the body: Gunmetal, Silver and Rose Gold, alongside with 18 color and material combos for the straps," according to Tech Times.
Both variants are powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of built-in storage. They also share an IP67 water resistance rating and Gorilla Glass 3. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi.
"Running on Android Wear, the ZenWatch 2 also taps into Asus' existing smartwatch ecosystem with apps like FoneHelper, activity and fitness tracking with Asus Wellness and Remote Camera all offer," Wareable said.
The website quoted Asus chairman Jonney Shih saying the device will have a seven-day battery life but two days is more like it.
The Asus ZenWatch 2 is now available on the Google Play Store at $149 following its Oct. 9 release date.
