While Nina Dobrev and new boyfriend Austin Stowell have finally made their first red carpet appearance as a couple, there are now reports claiming that the former "Vampire Diaries" star is only faking her relationship to make her people believe that she's over ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder.
Despite Dobrev and Stowell's public display of affection, Nina Dobrev is just reportedly using Stowell as a ploy.
Last seen at Eli Mizrahi's Founding Member launch dinner party, a source of E!Online claimed that the couple looked really in love.
"You can tell how much they love each other just by the way they speak and their mannerisms toward one another. Austin is such a gentleman and treats Nina with such respect," the source said.
However, Celeb Dirty Laundry, reported that Nina Dobrev is just using Stowell as a ploy to stop people from linking her to her ex-boyfriend.
"It would certainly be an easy way to seemingly end the constant association with Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed," the publication reported.
Apparently, it's not only Dobrev who is trying get her name unassociated with Somerhalder, Nikki Reed is apparently pushing her husband to quit "The Vampire Diaries" to stop further association with his ex-girlfriend.
CDL added that "all this PDA and perfectly timed romance seems to align with Nina's push for another career-making role." Dobrev is reportedly trying to land a role in other major series like "Empire" or "True Detective."
Additionally, she is also being eyed to portray the role of Allie in the TV show adaptation of "The Notebook."
Nina Dobrev also slammed rumors of her apparent return to "The Vampire Diaries" season 7.
"That chapter is closed, sadly - bittersweet," she told Entertainment Weekly.
