Emilia Clarke Now Joining 'Terminator: Genisys' Sequel After Winning GQ's Women Of The Year Award?

| By

There have been reports that Emilia Clarke's performance in Arnold Schwarzenegger's "Terminator: Genisys" was not impressive enough that producers are actually thinking of replacing her.

In fact, rumors went as far as claiming that the lackluster performance of the movie in the U.S. could be blamed to the "Game of Thrones" star.

According to Dish Nation, Clarke's bad performance in "Terminator Genisys" was put under bad light.

"Sadly her acting ability has been called into question and has in part been blamed for the film's flop," an insider revealed to the source above. "Of course it's not all her fault, but they basically don't want her back. They're saying she doesn't have the star power they thought she did."

"It's a shame because the role could have really cemented her place in Hollywood," the insider added. "But instead it's put a downer on it."

While producers of "Terminator: Genisys" sequel have considered dropping Emilia Clarke, her latest recognition from GQ magazine's prestigious "Woman of the Year" Award has secured her the spot to the sequel.

The 28-year-old "Game of Thrones" star was presented the "Woman of the Year" award by Sam Claflin, who described her as "Fair and deserving, hardworking and kind...the busiest bee...the 'Game of Thrones'' greatest find."

"She's not only ridiculously talented, the best of the batch. She's got a really good smile with characteristics to match. She's had 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' filmed opposite Jude Law, killed machines beside Arnie, and still has more in store," Claflin added.

And while she did not confirm her return to "Terminator: Genisys" sequel, Emilia Clarke acknowledged she is "very lucky to play very strong women on screen."

She also praised women from all over the globe saying, "We'd like to turn our minds to the real women of strength today [who are] struggling..."

While Emilia Clarke's latest accolade could play a huge part of producers wanting her back in "Terminator: Genisys" sequel, the show's impressive China opening has also reportedly vindicated the star, Variety reported.

The "Game of Thrones" has yet to comment on the said issue.
