'The Flash' Season 2 Premiere Casualty Is Dead But Could Return; Here's How

| By

"The Flash" season 2 premiere saw the death of one of the first allies of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).

Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), a.k.a. half of the Firestorm, sacrificed himself to be able to save Central City's Scarlet Speedster inside the singularity. He is not completely gone though.

Aaron Helbing, one of the writers of the hit CW Network superhero TV series, said Firestorm might return and he's just in another Earth.

"We're in the Flash-verse so anything's possible," he told Comicbook.com.

"There's Earth-2, there's multiverse, so there's always a possibility to see Ronnie come back."

While there is not much known yet in other places in the multi-verse, "The Flash" season 2 premiere already slightly introduced them through the arrival of Jay Garrick played by Teddy Sears who is also excited about other earths.

"I love the possibility that an Earth-17 exists, though. Or an Earth-49," Sears said in the same interview.

"What would that look like? With 52 different choices...we're in Season Two but the possibilities are limitless. A lot of fun things to explore down the line, obviously."

Firestorm is gone and this means heavy blow to the STAR Labs team. Among those will be heavily hit by his absence are his other Firestorm half Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and wife Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker).

The doctor will find a new Firestorm partner. For Caitlin, the death of her husband could signal her transformation into something darker and colder.

"Everything that happens on this show is going to slowly push her there," executive producer told Entertainment Weekly when asked if Firestorm's death will push Caitlin into becoming Killer Frost.

"How and when it happens is obviously something we'd like to keep on the down low. For those people who are hoping to one day see Caitlin do that, I can't promise it'll be as soon as you want, but it's definitely in the future - or one possible future, he said devilishly."

"The Flash" season 2 episode two is called "Flash of Two Worlds". Read the synopsis below.

"Jay Garrick, a mysterious man from Earth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash. Barry and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantel VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force."
